Relevance and the Bible

We finally got our camera going at church this Sunday, but we are still having some audio issues. Hopefully we'll resolve that this week. So this is an excerpt from the sermon in which I briefly address the issue about relevance and the Bible. The insistence on this particluar kind of argument for relevance seems to stem from the belief that people are stupid and lazy and therefore one needs to dumb things down and spoon feed them. I understand the concern about speaking over people's heads, but the answer is not to dumb things down. One should be relevant, but not in a way that treats people like they are in kindergarden. By the way, when I say "stupid" I am referring to people who should know better (preachers/pastors) and not in general.
