Bad Church Signs!
There are some signs that have caught my attention lately. I finally decided to take some pictures.
I know we are in a political season and all, but I didn't know Jesus was running for anything. But seriously the Bible says Jesus "elects" us. I guess I'll call this one the Arminian Billboard. The ironic thing is that KCTA is a decent Christian station. One can hear John MacArtur on it daily. Oh well.
Jesus Loves you But "Stay-Out"

I know that one of the complaints many "seekers" or "unchurched" people have is that many churches aren't very welcoming. This is especially true with young people. This church happens to have a decently paved parking lot. Just perfect for skateboarding. Maybe they should capitalize on this and make a mini skatepark and reach out to some of the teenagers who used to come around. What did they do instead? "Stay-out".
Stay Out #2

I could be wrong on this one, but here is what I think. I use to drive by this church in the evenings and there was always atleast several young men playing ball here. Once more here was an opportunity to capitalize on this. Get a nicer basketball rim, offer refreshments, befriend the guys etc. One day I noticed that no one played anymore. When I looked closer I saw this metal thing on the court. Several days later I saw a car get permanently parked there. The purpose? Given what I know about the "church culture" in that little town my guess is that they placed these obstacles there so that they wouldn't play ball anymore. I might be wrong, but I believe that this is very likely the case.
