Jesus as your "life coach?"
Those who know me know I spend alot of time thinking about God, the Bible, church, my own sin, Jesus and again my own sin. Anyways, I was thinking about the state of the pulpit in America so here is something I was thinking about. What bothers me about many of the feel good preachers is that when they speak of sin i.e. “making mistakes” they speak of sin more as an obstacle rather than a transgression. Sin is not so much an offense before a mighty and holy God, but rather something that is keeping you from living a “victorious life.” God seems to be someone who just wants the best for you like “health and wealth”, but the problem is that we need to learn how to master principles before we get there and so therefore sin is a thing that causes self harm and regress in this journey to greatness. Consequently we’re not too much sorry that we sinned against God, but more sorry that we sinned against self. This is why we must begin with “forgiving ourselves” and start reading our Bibles so that we can minimize these set backs on the way to reaching our full potential. We do not need a savior as much as we need a life coach. Jesus seems to be more like the ultimate coach and guru. Look to him to learn all of the secrets to life! That’s kind of how it goes.

The second problem I see is that the whole idea about "forgiving one's self" isn't even biblical. It comes from secular psychology rather from the Bible. I could go on about these two things, but I'll leave it be.
We do not need a savior as much as we need a life coach. Wow
